What do you do when you want to write a cool word you have never spelled before?
You can use your super ears to stretch the word out and write down each sound you hear!
Sound Stretching
We use a Continuous Say-and-Segment Routine to stretch words slowly like a rubber band or tap each sound.
This routine helps you hear the initial sound, medial vowel, and final sound in exact sequential order.
Matching each spoken sound to a written symbol is called phoneme-grapheme correspondence.
This follows the alphabetic principle: every distinct sound (like /s/, /รฆ/, or /t/) maps directly onto a letter symbol ('s', 'a', 't').

How do we write down each sound from the start of a word to the end?
