Playing Instruments Musically

Learners will use their voices expressively to sing songs, speak chants and rhymes, and perform with others.

Learners will play tuned and untuned instruments musically, both alone and in group performances.

Learners will listen with concentration to a range of music, identify what they hear, and recall sounds.

Learners will experiment with the dimensions of music to create, select, and combine sounds for different purposes.

Learners will begin to read and understand simple musical symbols and staff notation.

Learners will develop an understanding of the history of music and appreciate music from different traditions.
