OGS.1.SEP.1
Ask questions, make predictions, and formulate conjectures about objects, organisms, and events in the natural and designed world based on personal experiences and observations.
OGS.1.SEP.2
Plan and participate safely in guided empirical investigations and simple fair tests, manipulating materials, identifying influencing conditions, and testing conjectures.
OGS.1.SEP.3
Use standard scientific instruments (such as rulers, thermometers, graduated cylinders, balances, clocks, and magnifying hand lenses) as well as non-standard units to observe, measure, and quantify physical attributes of solids and liquids.
OGS.1.SEP.4
Collect, organize, and record scientific observations accurately using drawings, words, numbers, and provided templates, identifying simple patterns, comparing outcomes with initial predictions, and assessing whether evidence answers questions.
OGS.1.SEP.5
Design, construct, and test simple physical models and working devices (such as paper bridges, paper flyers, acoustic sound transmission cups, or pinhole viewers) using basic tools and materials to solve practical design challenges.
OGS.1.SEP.6
Communicate scientific observations, predictions, and findings using diverse media, actively listen to peers, collaborate respectfully in group work, gather information from multiple sources, and discuss science stories, historical technological changes, and topical scientific developments.
