Now imagine cracking an egg into a hot frying pan. Can you cool the fried egg down to turn it back into a runny, raw egg? No way!

Clue 1: Permanent Color Changes and Rust
A shiny silver nail left in damp air slowly turns into crumbly, reddish-brown rust. Rust isn't just dirty iron โ it's a completely new material called iron oxide.
Because the iron combined with oxygen from the air, you cannot scrape the rust off and turn it back into the original shiny metal nail.
