If you told your friend, "I ate pancakes tomorrow!" they might laugh and look confused.
We use time words to tell people exactly when something happens.
📊Interactive diagram
How do we know which time word to pick for each day?
Today: This Very Day
Today means the day you are in right now.
You use today when you talk about things happening now or on this calendar day, like: Today, we eat lunch at the park.
What about things that already finished before you woke up this morning?
Yesterday: The Day Before
Yesterday means the day right before today.
Since yesterday is already over, we use it with actions that already happened: Yesterday, I painted a picture.
📊Interactive diagram
What about the day that comes after you go to sleep tonight?
