Imagine waking up tomorrow morning and discovering that every single bone in your body has vanished.
Without bones, you would flop to the floor like a giant jellyfish! Your skeleton is the strong internal frame made of over 200 bones that keeps you from becoming a puddle.

1. Support: Your Inner Frame
Just like wooden beams hold up a house or metal poles hold up a tent, your skeleton provides support to hold up your skin, muscles, and organs.
Your spine, or backbone, is a stack of 33 small bones called vertebrae that lets you stand straight instead of drooping over.
