What actually happens to turn hard, shiny metal into fragile powder?
What is Rusting?
Rusting is a slow chemical change where iron combines with oxygen gas and water to form a brand-new material.
Scientists call this new substance hydrated iron(III) oxide, which simply means iron bonded together with oxygen and water particles.
