What Is a Chapter?
Long books are broken up into smaller sections called chapters. Each chapter focuses on one main topic or one part of a story.
To help you find these sections quickly, books include a special list right near the front cover.
The Table of Contents
A table of contents is an organized list found at the beginning of a book that shows each chapter title and its starting page number.

Finding Page Ranges
A chapter starts on its listed page and keeps going until the very page before the next chapter begins. This span of pages is called a page range.
