The Virtual Earth Principle
In 1947, American engineer John R. Ragazzini and his team coined the term operational amplifier while designing analog computers that added mathematical voltages together without loading errors.
An op-amp (an integrated differential amplifier with extremely high open-loop gain) configured with negative feedback drives the voltage difference between its input terminals virtually to zero.
When the non-inverting terminal (V+β) is wired directly to 0Β V (ground), the inverting terminal (Vββ) is held at 0Β V as well β creating a virtual earth.

Because an ideal op-amp has infinite input impedance, no current can flow into the inverting input pin (Iopβ=0Β A).

Current Summation at the Junction
Kirchhoff's Current Law (KCL) states that the total current entering any electrical junction must equal the total current leaving that junction.
Each input voltage Vkβ connects through its own input resistor Rkβ directly to the virtual earth node (0Β V), producing an input current of Ikβ=RkβVkββ0β=RkβVkββ.
