Every complete sentence must have a subject, a predicate, and share a complete thought.
The subject is who or what the sentence is about, while the predicate tells what the subject does or is.

What Is a Sentence Fragment?
A sentence fragment is an incomplete piece of a sentence pretending to be a full sentence.
Missing Subject Fragments are word groups that tell an action or state of being but lack the noun or pronoun performing it (e.g., "Ran quickly across the playground"). Fix them by asking, "Who or what performed this action?" and adding the subject.
Missing Predicate Fragments name a person, place, thing, or idea but contain no main action or linking verb (e.g., "The fluffy orange cat on the porch"). Fix them by asking, "What is the subject doing or being?" and adding a verb.
